Chapter 5 Reflection

Before reading chapter 5 I knew and heard about SQ3R, previewing and making connections with the topic you are going to read about because of where I work. We teach kids the same techniques such as previewing before starting anything so they get a sense of what they are going to be working on for the day. I like the fact that I can take what I learn from the chapter and include it in my work place and present it in a new way. I never really used the SQ3R since sixth grade where I first learned about it and completely forgot about it after that year. After reading the chapter I saw that it went more in depth with the topic then what I was previously taught about it and what it can be used for and how helpful it is in many ways.

                                                         Chapter 2 Reflection

Before reading chapter two I thought I knew a lot about text books. After reading this chapter I realized that I didn't know as much as I thought I did. This chapter was very helpful to me when it came to writing study notes and highlighting. I would find myself highlighting half the page and writing so much unnecessary stuff that I didn't need. It was just a waste of time. After reading this chapter I learned how to find important information and where to look for these facts that would be helpful to me without doing so much extra work.

                                                   Chapter 3 Reflection

Before reading this chapter I knew a lot of these techniques thanks to my SAT prep classes. Even though I learned these its been a very long time so its good to refresh your memory by reading about it again. What I did learn from this chapter was that I been using a lot of these my whole life but I never knew there were specific name for what I was actually doing. For example I been using logical and reasoning skills my whole life but didn't know that it was called inference clues.
