Chapter 8 Thought Patterns

Before reading chapter 8 I found that when ever I would try to explain something to someone, the more I made what I was trying to say confusing. Not only did I make what I was trying to say confusing I would also confuse myself in the outcome. After reading chapter 8 I saw that there are more ways to explain something then by just speaking. For example you can use illustration to explain something more clearly. The person would have a better and vivid picture rather then a mental picture of the general idea. I can use this example pretty much almost anywhere. I can use chapter 8 and incorporate it to my work when explaining to students I teach of how to get a clear image of what their reading or doing word problems. I think chapter 8 was a very helpful chapter when it came to understanding how to get your ideas across to other people and to get them to see your point of view on what you believe in.

Health Today Reflection

Before reading this article I knew that a lot of people were becoming dependent on technology, but I never knew or took into consideration of the downside of using it. For example I didn't know that people were becoming less social in person or generally connect in the real world because of technology. They depend on wireless connection or being plugged into the internet. I know that I depend a lot on technology for stuff but I  actually like communicating with people in person rather then isolate myself in one area or room and sit at one spot communicating. I do take breaks as well and try to use laptop more so I can be comfortable then get back pain or neck cramps sitting on a desktop chair.
